It feels like I'm starting to get a cold now, on top of the chest infection/cough of course, I'm feeling incredibly worn out and have zero energy right now. Obviously I'm stuck at home sick, though I did manage to go to the supermarket this morning, luckily I had enough money to cover a few basic things that'll last me until I get paid on Thursday. And I'm actually get paid on Thursday, as I was well enough to do 3 shifts last week and a half day training course which I'll be getting paid for luckily! Unfortunately, I ran out of sick leave last month so actually having a pay packet due this week is going to be a life saver.

The training course was just a 4 hour one on "Patient Handling", which means we went over how to safely move patients depending on their level of mobility. How to get a patient who had fallen, up off the floor, plus making sure everyone knows how to use the Hospital's equipment correctly, (things like hoists, these plastic boards we use to move patients from one bed to another, stuff like that). It's one of the courses we have to re-do each and every year, it's not too bad I'm at the point experience wise it's easy money and I only really learn anything new if they have a new hoist or something to show us. (Even with a new hoist there won't be much difference between it and older ones though).

Unfortunately, a number of items have showed up as returned in my Amazon.co.uk account, meaning the amount of referral fees I've earned has been going backwards. (The referral fees are from people click on one of my Amazon.co.uk links and then adding something to their cart within 24hours and buying it). This is freaking me out a little, as I'm 100% dependant on the referral fees for my basic financial survival - I can't work normal 40 hour weeks due to illness, and without the Amazon.com/.co.uk/.ca money to say I'd be f***ed is putting it mildly.

Sick

My chest infection is coming back, just after I'd thought I'd gotten over it too :( Unfortunately, it's viral so antibiotics won't help. Last year, I had a similar infection and it took almost 3 months for me to get over it fully. Of course I can't work, as I have a nasty cough and they don't want it going around the wards even more than it is.

There's a really good comic called Scandinavia and the World, which I started following a few weeks ago. I think it's worth checking out at least :)

Reddit

Someone from Reddit jokey suggested I sell sex to make money, my first reaction was so long as I never had to touch them, let alone have sex with them. Meaning I'd have to what become a Dom and whip them? I'm finding the image of me marching around in black leather with various types of whips, with clients chained up in a dungeon very amusing. No I'm not going to do it of course, if nothing else I don't have the imagination for it as well as other more obvious reasons :)

Of course, there are "stiff" jokes - making extra money -stiff jokes - about become a male prostitute. But that would be par for the course :)

Intro

I currently work in a public hospital as a HCA temp, meaning I can work when I'm well enough and take time off when I'm sick or when I'm doing something else. It's well enough paid that if I was able to work at least 4-5 8 hour shifts there each and every week I'd be solidly in the middle income wise, (unfortunately I don't work as much as I'd like :( ).

Job wise it can be really easy and really bad, as half time I'm looking after psych or dementia patients one on one. (The psych patients tend to be people who have just attempted suicide or have come in other medical reasons and have to have at least one person with them 24/7. A lot of dementia patients tend to be really good/easy, as my main job to make sure they don't wander off and get lost :)

I'm currently reading a book a friend recommended, and as soon as I spotted it in the library I jumped on it. It's Drood by Dan Simmons ans it is really good, the sole problem I've been having with it is it's very long at well over 700 pages, very dense and it's taking me longer than I'm used to to read, as I'm actually haveing to sit there and it proberly rather than rush through like I do with a lot of books. It's a fictional account of Charles Dicken's life after he is in a fatal train crash, (he was in the only first class craggage that didn't go over the bridge in the crass), as told by one of closest friends and involves the main character in the book he started to write before he died a few years later, called Edwin Drood. It's something of a real life story, crossed with a horror and what if story.
